Taejin grew up away from Earth, on a world in the Amaar system. He spent much of his teen years hunting large game with his grandfather, who would regale him with old tales of Earth and its forgotten lands and cultures. His active life and training on this high-gravity world gave him strength and speed beyond that of any normal human. Taejin was a prodigy Master, showing reflexes and combat ability far beyond those who had undergone years of battle training. Upon reaching adulthood, Taejin saw his chance to travel to the homeworld of his ancestors. He joined the Second Reclamation Fleet, a force put together with the hopes of taking Earth back from the Synd.
Though he fought alongside his fellow soldiers with honor and tenacity, he soon developed a reputation for being the only one to return alive from missions. He became a symbol of misfortune among his comrades, and was often viewed with suspicion and mistrust. He started taking more solo missions and came to believe he was invincible, often charging brashly into risky situations without consequence. The Amaari recognized Taejin's capabilities and the way he was distancing himself from personal relationships, and pulled him from the Reclamation Fleet to test him as a Master. He rose quickly through the ranks to find his place among a stronger breed of warriors, people he could finally call peers. He is now assigned to Dredgion, with Earth just beyond the viewing deck of the ship, and is continuing his fight to reclaim his heritage--what used to be just stories from the mouths of his ancestors.
